Experiment: AI-generated Conversation Between Two Digital Avatars

Although I am a long-time fan of hashtag#Synthesia for avatar video creation, I always keep an eye on the relentless experimenters over at hashtag#HeyGen. Recently, I tried HeyGen’s latest lab feature, which creates conversations using digital avatars—no doubt inspired by Google NotebookLM.

I uploaded a PDF of my book Gardeners Not Mechanics: How to Cultivate Change at Work, and in return, I received a three-minute video where two AI avatars discuss the book. What stood out was how the second avatar asked well-crafted questions, creating the illusion of a dynamic exchange rather than a monologue.

The result wasn’t perfect, but it provided a fascinating glimpse into where things are heading.
