The future of leadership skills practice is taking shape

The future of leadership skills practice is taking shape: real-time, video avatar-based conversations.

For those familiar with LeadershipSkillsLab.ai, you’ll know how effective text-based skills practice can be for developing leadership abilities in a safe, structured environment. With over 50 text-based role plays, it has helped many users refine their skills.

Recently, I introduced three voice-based role plays, adding a more dynamic way to practice. I also experimented with a video avatar-based conversation using #HeyGen, exploring what might come next in immersive learning.

One reason I haven’t converted more role plays to voice is that it’s clear the future lies in video avatar-based interactions. Platforms like #Synthesia are well-positioned to lead this shift, delivering robust, professional-grade solutions that will shape the next era of practice and development.

Synthesia’s recent announcement about raising $180 million in Series D funding confirms their commitment to this vision. As they state:

"In this next phase, we’ll continue shaping the future of AI video for business, which we believe will be interactive, real-time, and truly personalized."

This aligns with my view of the future of leadership skills practice: real-time, realistic, and highly interactive scenarios, which provide an unparalleled opportunity for learning and growth.

Congratulations to #Synthesia on this milestone. I look forward to seeing how this technology evolves and using it as soon as possible to power leadership skills development.
